Does this sound familiar?
Toenail fungus (onychomycosis) is a chronic infection. It lives under the nail plate, where creams have trouble reaching, and it rarely goes away on its own. Left alone, it usually gets thicker, darker, and harder to treat, and it can spread to other nails or skin. Thick, cracked nails can also let bacteria in, which is a bigger concern for people with diabetes, poor circulation, or a weakened immune system.

How our toenail fungus program works.
Note: Long-standing infections, or toes with hammertoes or other deformities, can take longer - we'll tell you honestly at your assessment.
01 Free assessment - we confirm it's fungus and map out which nails need treatment.
02 Laser sessions - usually about 6 sessions spread over roughly a year. Each visit takes about 20-30 minutes; most patients feel only gentle warmth. No numbing, no downtime.
03 Topical and in-shoe spray - home care that attacks fungus on the nail and in your shoes, so it doesn't re-infect you.
04 Clear nail grows in - healthy nail grows out from the base over the following months. We check progress at follow-ups; some patients choose occasional maintenance sessions.
Why laser instead of pills?
No liver monitoring
Oral antifungals can require bloodwork and carry liver risks. Laser works locally, at the nail.
Back to your day
Walk in, walk out, no recovery time.
Nothing to swallow
A few scheduled visits plus a simple home routine.
Toenail fungus treatment: common questions.
Is the nail assessment really free?
Yes. It's a 10-15 minute visit with Dr. Janson for toenail fungus only, with no charge and no obligation. It is not a free consultation for orthotics, bunions, heel pain, or other foot problems; those are booked as regular visits.
Does the laser hurt?
Most patients feel mild warmth or a brief pinpoint sensation. No anesthesia; you can drive home afterward.
How many visits will I need?
Usually about 6 laser sessions over roughly 12 months, plus follow-ups.
How soon will I see results?
Nails grow slowly, so visible improvement usually shows over 3-6 months as clear nail grows in from the base.
Is it covered by insurance or Medicare?
No. Laser treatment for nail fungus isn't covered by insurance, including Medicare. We go over the cost clearly at your free assessment.
Can it come back?
It can, especially in warm, damp shoes. The in-shoe spray and simple prevention habits help protect your results.
